Arminian Theology: Reformed?
The first myth that Olson seeks to dispel is that Arminian Theology is the polar opposite of Calvinism/Reformed Theology. In fact, historically, there is even a sense that one can define Arminianism as a branch of Reformed theology, as Arminius certainly located himself within that tradition.
Olson’s concern in this chapter is to point out that the visible differences between Calvinism and Arminianism should not be used to ignore their common ground, which includes the total depravity of human will.
